University College Cork (UCC) ABCRF

The School of Pharmacy and Analytical & Biological Chemistry Research Facility (ABCRF) are co-located in the Cavanagh Building, University College Cork, creating a state-of-the-art centre for research in the pharmaceutical sciences. The building houses research groups in the areas of Synthetic (Organic, Medicinal, Pharmaceutical, BioInorganic) Chemistry, Biochemistry, Drug Delivery and Formulation Science.

Specialised laboratory equipment and large infrastructural equipment for pharmaceutical analysis, including LC-MS, NMR, PXRD, single crystal X-ray diffraction and thermal analysis, located in this building are available for use by Industry. Data acquisition, interpretation and reporting are available by highly trained research staff.

Engagement with the local, national and international pharmaceutical sector is central to the activity and success of the research activity within the School of Pharmacy and ABCRF. These industrial engagements range from contract analysis and research, to collaborative short-term and long-term research projects. Researchers within the Cavanagh Building have a proven track record of industrial collaboration.
